Inventory Breakdown
The Story
The 1989-1991 Grand Wagoneers are considered the best of the breed. Under Chrysler's ownership, these final years brought significant improvements: upgraded wood siding, modernized aluminum alloy wheels with gunmetal grey metallic finish replacing the earlier gold inlays, electrocoat primer for superior rust-proofing, and a two-stage base-clearcoat paint system. The 1989 model year also introduced a more reliable air conditioning compressor, improved fit and finish, the distinctive rear wiper/washer assembly, and an overhead console borrowed from Chrysler's minivans featuring bright map lights, outside temperature sensor, compass, sunglass storage, and infrared keyless entry. These refinements made the final Grand Wagoneers the most desirable versions of Jeep's wood-paneled luxury SUV that had defined American family adventure since 1963.
This example shows 94,340 original miles and remains largely original throughout, with the paint, body, interior, and drivetrain intact. The current owner, the third since new, purchased it as a daily driver three years ago with plans to restore it with minimal modifications. The second owner cared for it for over 15 years. Under current ownership, key mechanical work has been performed including a carburetor overhaul, new water pump, timing chain, plugs and wires, plus a complete fuel tank and radiator flush. The Jeep served him well for travel, camping, off-roading, and family hauling, but with his lifestyle now centered around motorcycles, he's ready to pass it to someone who will make the most of its utility.
The seller holds a clean California title with current registration. There is a reserve price that will need to be met in order for it to sell.

What You Get
Drivetrain & Chassis:
The original AMC 5.9L (360 cubic inch) V8 with 2-barrel carburetor produces 144 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, paired with a TorqueFlite 727 3-speed automatic transmission showing 94,340 original miles. The Selec-Trac NP229 full-time 4WD system with low range is functioning. Recent mechanical work includes carburetor overhaul, new water pump, timing chain, spark plugs and wires. The fuel tank and fuel lines were removed, flushed, and reinstalled. The radiator was flushed. The frame and floorboards are solid throughout with no rust issues.
Body & Frame:
The body retains its original Spinnaker White Metallic paint with factory faux woodgrain trim panels. The paint shows oxidation, chips, and spot rust consistent with age and use. There is one notable rust hole on the passenger rear quarter panel. The frame is solid and original. All body panels appear original. Factory equipment includes overhead console with compass and thermometer, keyless entry, rear wiper and washer, and tailgate cap.
Interior & Floors:
The interior is all original Grand Wagoneer luxury trim with leather and cloth upholstery, power windows, power locks, dual remote mirrors, woodgrain accents, and all original trim, moldings, and accessories. The interior shows natural wear, particularly the driver's seat which has vinyl cracks and tears. The dash and instrument panel are in good condition with normal wear. The floors are solid with no rust.

What You Need
Drivetrain & Chassis:
The steering rack bushings on the front end need replacement. All fluids, hoses, and belts should be inspected and replaced as needed for continued reliability. The wiper fluid container and coolant overflow container are removed due to weathering and require replacement. The catalytic converter and smog components are currently removed but available and in working order if emissions compliance is required.
Body & Frame:
The passenger rear quarter panel has a rust hole that requires patching or panel replacement. There is some rust spotting along the lower edge of the passenger side rear window. Some of the paint oxidation can be addressed with buffing and polishing, or the vehicle can be repainted. There are some dents around the lower portion of the driver's side fender and driver door. All weather stripping should be inspected and replaced as necessary.
Interior & Floors:
The front seats would benefit from recovering due to vinyl cracks and tears. Other interior surfaces may benefit from leather conditioning and cleaning, including carpet shampoo. Some small components are not currently installed but are included: rear passenger door armrest and miscellaneous hardware. The carpet in the cargo area is worn and could use replacement. The gas gauge is not functional and requires a new crush washer at the sending unit to restore operation.
