Working with Rob at “BUILD MY RIDE” was an outstanding experience. I hate to sell stuff especially cars. I have owned (7) Corvettes and the last (3) I took the keys to the Chevrolet dealership, owned by a friend, handed them the keys. They asked me what I am supposed to do with these. I told them to sell the car and send me what was left after they got their share. Sales were easy, clean and no hassle. Selling my truck through “BUILD MY RIDE” was just as rewarding and hassle free. My truck was listed for (3) weeks, got over 20,000 hits, 20 bids and I was “HAPPY” with the sale price. Their fee structure is great and very reasonable. I am building a 1950 Chevrolet pickup and if and when I sell it, I will list it with “BUILD MY RIDE” THANK YOU, “BUILD MY RIDE” AND Rob. Harold 1954 Dodge C1 5-Window Pickup January 16, 2026 12:40 pm
My fascination with Corvettes started when I was nine years old. A neighbor of ours was a salesman for DeAnza Chevrolet in Riverside, CA. He drove a 1953 Corvette home one day. Every day for a week I waited for him to come home, and I would go over and look at that Corvette until my Mom would call me for dinner. Then one day he drove home a 1953 Chevy sedan. I went over and asked him where MY Corvette was. He said that he had sold it. I bought my first of seven Corvettes in 1966 while I was in the navy. My last one was a 2006 Z06, which I raced like all the others and drove it to two hundred MPH. On Ontario speedway I drove it into turn one at 170 MPH. Best Corvette I ever had. When I quit working, February 9, 2009, I wanted a project so that is when I started building the Dodge. When I started, the only thing I knew was it was going to have Corvette suspension. So, I just started building. The finished product just evolved during the build; I had no ultimate design in mind. It took five years and many decisions to get to what is the finished product. 1954 Dodge C1 5-Window Pickup December 14, 2025 8:47 am
